Can I Connect My Custom Domain With My Landing Page?

Modified on Tue, 15 Nov 2022 at 01:40 PM

To connect your custom domain with your landing page inside your My Local Ads CRM account, please follow these steps:

FYI: Your user account requires Admin access to complete this action.

Step 1: Log into your My Local Ads CRM Account app.mylocalads.co

Step 2: Visit 'Settings' in your left-hand sidebar.

Step 3: Visit 'Domains' in your left-hand sidebar.

Step 4: In your 'Domains' settings, click on 'Add New Domain'.

Step 5: A pop-up like this should open next.

You will have the option to add 'A' records and 'CNAME' records to your domain name settings (DNS).

'CNAME' records are commonly used for 'Sub-domains' e.g. www.yourdomain.com ; get-started.yourdomain.com ; abc.yourdomain.com.

'A' records are commonly used for 'Root-domains' e.g. yourdomain.com ; abc.com.

TIP: Not sure what service you are using to host your domain name settings? Common providers are GoDaddy, Google Domains, 1&1, CloudFlare, and similar. Check your DNS Host with a DNS-Checker: https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx

Example: Mylocalads.co's DNS is hosted by Google Domains.

Step 6 [To Connect A Root-Domain]: Copy the A record value from your CRM Account.

Step 8: Create a new 'A' record inside your Domain Name Settings. Make sure your new A record points to the A record value listed above.

Step 9 [To Connect A Sub-Domain]: Copy the CNAME record value from your CRM Account.

Step 10: Create a new 'CNAME' record inside your Domain Name Settings. Make sure your new CNAME record points to the CNAME record value listed above.

Final Step: After adding your new 'CNAME' and/or 'A' record(s) to your Domain's Domain Name Settings, open your app.mylocalads.co Settings > Domains > 'Add New Domain' and enter your URL (do not add https:// or http:// to your URL) into the 'Add your own domain' field. Then click 'Add'.

Your custom domain should now be connected successfully. Successful domain connections will appear in your Domain settings.
